Pamper Your Peds: Pumice Foot Scrub

Makes 2 tablespoons — enough for one treatment
Shoes that are too tight or too loose can cause corns and calluses. These hardened areas are best treated by soaking your feet in warm water with dissolved Epsom salts. Once the calluses are softened, follow up with this foot scrub. Pumice stones (natural rocks formed from cooled volcanic lava) are found in many drug stores.

  • 1 small pumice stone
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  1. Place the pumice stone in a heavy plastic bag and hit with a hammer on a hard surface (outdoors, if possible) until you have a fine powder.
  2. Mix the pumice powder and sour cream into a smooth paste.
  3. Massage both feet with this cream, giving special attention to the heels and other callused areas. Then wash the scrub completely from feet and pat dry.
