There’s a reason breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. Breakfast is what gets you out of the bed in the morning. People often disregard this crucial meal because they’re in a rush to get to work or school. Getting a healthy dose of all the most important nutrients is an important thing when you’re trying to get ready for the rest of the day. You can’t function on an empty stomach. This means you’re going to need a lot of protein with your meal. The good news is that there is no shortage of delicious protein-filled recipes for that early morning rush.

1. Go Heavy on the Eggs

Bacon and eggs have long been staples of the ideal breakfast. Not only can they cure a hangover, but they also provide you with lots of protein. Unfortunately, bacon has its own set of unhealthy disadvantages that you might want to avoid. Luckily, eggs are still king when it comes to breakfast foods

Eggs really never go out of style. There are thousands of recipes out there that make this simple ingredient interesting and tasty. Egg-in-the-hole grilled cheese is a phenomenal choice for breakfast food. Make a hole in a piece of toast, stick an egg in it, and cook it along with your grilled cheese. It’s a wonderful way to get a tasty breakfast while also getting quite a bit of the necessary nutrients you need. If you prefer going without the cheese, the egg will give you all the protein you need, just make sure to cook a couple of them to compensate.

2. Add Some Feta Cheese on Top

Feta cheese really is a miraculous kind of food. Unlike other ingredients, it can go well with just about anything. This delicious piece of food from Greece is pretty healthy considering that it’s a kind of cheese. Relatively recently, people have been incorporating it into everything. Women adore it because it doesn’t contain the same kind of fat as other types of cheese. You aren’t limited to exclusively using it for breakfast, but it is recommended for the meal.

Since you’ve already headed down the path of healthy food, might as well go all the way. Something like asparagus would go well with a nice dose of feta cheese. Throw some feta on a piece of toast and sandwich some asparagus between them. Put it in the oven for about ten minutes and you have yourself a wonderful and deliciously healthy meal.

3. Oatmeal is the Ideal Choice

There’s nothing quite like oatmeal to get you going early in the morning. To the untrained palate, oatmeal isn’t a particularly tasty food. This is probably why a lot of people don’t have fond memories of eating oatmeal. While it’s not too interesting on its own, oatmeal can be combined with a near-infinite number of things to create the perfect breakfast. It’s rich in protein and fibers which can only be improved on by adding more ingredients.

The best thing about oatmeal is that you get to combine it with sweet things without having to worry about whether it’s unhealthy or not. A bit of chocolate in your chocolate pumpkin oatmeal mix won’t do any damage, but it will do wonders for your taste buds. Pair up your oats with cocoa and almond milk and mix them until you have yourself a chocolate delicacy. Toss it in some pumpkin puree and you have a delicious triad for your early morning meal. If chocolate isn’t your thing, you can always replace it with blueberries, they are another wonderful pairing for oatmeal.

4. Have Yourself a Smoothie Delight

Everybody likes having a nice smoothie once in a while. If you’re watching your weight, you might have opted to avoid this food for some time. Despite their reputation, smoothies don’t have to be unhealthy at all. How good they are for you only depends on the ingredients you use in your recipe. The good news is that there are tons of recipes that taste wonderful while using only the healthiest ingredients.

If you like some sweetness with your healthy dose of vitamins and minerals, berries are the way to go. Combine frozen fruit with yogurt in a mixer and you won’t regret the decision. Elderberries and bananas are a good choice that blends well with just about anything. If you’ve just finished your workout, you can add your post workout supplements to the mix and it will make it even tastier. Not only are you getting a treat, but you’re also getting most of your daily protein intake in a single meal!

5. Salty Cheese Pita Usually Does the Trick

Cheese and bread are an unbeatable duo. They go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. You could stick a bunch of grilled cheese on top of a piece of toast, but why stop there? Might as well make yourself something that looks as nice as it tastes.

If you like having a little color in your morning meal, you’ve run into the right recipe. Salty goat cheese pita with eggs and tomatoes is the perfect morning combination that will get you through the day. Not only do you get your fair share of protein, but you also get a variety of tastes that will make you regret not making any more. If you don’t mind having a bit of an aromatic aftertaste, you should add some purple onions in before baking it. Sprinkle some basil on top and you’ve put the finishing touches on your gourmet breakfast.

In conclusion, having a protein-rich breakfast is something you can’t go without. Not only will it help you feel full during the long hours you spend at work, but it will also reduce cravings for any snacks along the way. Even if you’re short on time, most of these recipes aren’t very demanding when it comes to preparation. Try out some of these recipes and you’re going to be set for quite a while.
