This fresh, Simple Mulled Wine is the perfect seasonal treat for holiday festivities.
4 to 6 servings SERVINGS
Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine of your choice
- 1-1⁄4 cup mulling spices
- 1⁄2 cup elderberry syrup (or substitute fresh orange or pineapple juice)
- 1⁄2 cup brandy (optional)
Directions
- Pour wine in a large saucepan. (If using fruit juice, add to wine now.) Toss in mulling spices and extra cinnamon sticks, if desired. Heat over medium heat until steaming with little bubbles forming around the edges. Reduce heat to low, cover and let simmer about 20 minutes. Remove lid, remove mulling spice bag, and add elderberry syrup and brandy (if using). Stir well. Serve with a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick, if desired.
