You can enjoy rose petals and honey together in drinks, or on foods such as pastries or cookies, for a tasty and healthy treat.

Ingredients

  • Rose petals
  • Raw local honey

Directions

  • Place the fresh rose petals in a jar. The petals should fill the jar without being too spacious or too crammed.
  • Next, pour some honey into the jar. Using a chopstick or a butter knife, stir the honey and petals together. After they’re well-combined, fill the rest of the jar with honey and stir well again. Cover with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Keep this jar on the counter, turning it upside down a couple times each day. After 3 days, the mixture will be ready; you won’t need to strain the petals from the honey. This mixture will last indefinitely. If you live in a warm climate, you may want to store the honey in the fridge.

This easy treat tastes divine. Drizzle it on pancakes, French toast, ice cream, oatmeal, or pastries, or stir it into tea. You can use any rose petals as long as they smell wonderfully aromatic and haven’t been sprayed with harmful chemicals. Don’t use rose petals from a florist, as these roses are often sprayed. Unless the petals are visibly dusty, you won’t need to wash them.
