Pet Supplements: Natural Herbs for Your Pet’s Diet

Can your pets use a pick-me-up? Try supplementing their diets with nutritional herbs.

You can supplement a healthy animal’s diet with nutritional herbs. This simple dried formula complements pets’ diets with foodlike concentrations of protein, beta-carotene, iron, potassium,  calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins B, C, E and K.

Combine equal parts:

? Spirulina (Spirulina platensis)

? Nettle (Urtica dioica)

? Dandelion leaf (Taraxacum officinale) 

? Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

? Powdered flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum)

Mix all ingredients and store in a glass jar. For adult dogs, feed 1 teaspoon per pound of food, once daily. For adult cats, use 1/2 teaspoon per pound of food, as an adjunct to a natural diet.
