DIY Chest Rub to Relieve Common Cold Symptoms

  1. Gently melt 1/4 cup (60 mL) of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of shaved beeswax (beeswax pellets may be used) over low heat.
  2. Pour mixture into an empty jar to cool.
  3. After it has cooled but before it sets up, stir in 4 drops of thyme linalool, 8 drops of peppermint, 8 drops of eucalyptus, 4 drops of Hyssopus var. decumbens essential oils.
  4. Stir well to combine.
  5. After patch testing on the foot or elbow, apply to the chest as a rub, massaging in well, as needed. Be sure to introduce this slowly in small amounts.
