Heat rash or prickly heat can occur whenever conditions prevent perspiration from evaporating. To help prevent heat rash, wear lightweight clothing made from loosely woven natural fabrics, which allow evaporation. Also consider using a cornstarch-based body powder to absorb moisture. Here’s one you can make yourself.
- 1 clean jar with lid
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¼ cup rice flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
- Punch holes in jar lid to make a shaker. Mix powder ingredients together until thoroughly blended, then pour powder into jar.
- Shake powder on your skin before dressing, or over your bed sheets for a good night’s sleep.
