So, I have a confession to make: I’m one of those girls who has more lip balms than there are days of the week.
Call it an addiction, or call it an inability to control spending, but my collection of moisturizing lip treatment is ever-expanding…even moreso in the organic care selection.
I grew up a Chap-Stick girl, but graduated to more posh brands, such as Softlips and more recently, Burt’s Bees.
But now, I’m finding interest in the little guys.
Today’s profile focuses on Bubble & Bee Organic. This company, founded by Stephanie Greenwood, has taken homemade to heart. B&B prides itself on being a very transparent company that lets its customers know exactly what is–and isn’t–in its products. B&B pledges to use organic ingredients whenever possible, and explains its reasoning behind using any synthetic stuff.
Luckily, everything inside the two lip balms I own, Karma Apple and Peppermint & Cocoa, is 95 to 100 percent organic (and so soft).
Karma apple is a sweet treat that smells (and tastes!) like sugar and spice. Organic beeswax, cocoa butter, sunflower oil, safflower oil, green apple flavor and brown sugar flavor mix together to make this a tasty treat for your pucker. The only non-organic ingredients are coconut oil and stevia extract.
Peppermint cocoa is a little more simplistic in its concoction: organic sunflower oil, beeswax, cocoa butter and peppermint essential oil is all it takes to create a perfect lip lubricant.
At $3.99 a pop, these babies are worth the extra dollar because of its fantastic ingredients and support for small business. Plus, the thick stick formula lasts longer–no need to addictively reapply hour after hour.
What about you? Do you feel the need to reapply? Do you wonder whether the ingredients in non-organic products are to blame? What are your favorites?
