Solatube International Inc., the worldwide leading manufacturer and marketer of Tubular Daylighting Devices (TDDs), has redefined daylighting once again. It announced today that it has a new line of decorative fixtures, called Glass Distractions. The fixtures provide a decorative element at the ceiling level to an already-perfect source of light: daylighting.
“When I heard that Solatube was introducing decorative fixtures for its daylighting systems, I could not wait to see them,” said Denise Homme, Ph.D., interior design professional and program director of the Design Institute of San Diego. “For years, I had been modifying decorative fixtures to attach for clients who wanted something different in their homes. Glass Distractions are really a dream come true for anyone who loves daylight and wants to customize the look of their home, just like they would with traditional lighting fixtures.”
There are six new decorative fixtures in the line:
- JustFrost: A clean, contemporary design
- TierDrop: A cascading, classic element
- OptiView: Delivers artful views of the sky
- QuadraFrost: An angular, symmetrical style
- VividShade: Incorporates contemporary fabric for a chic design
- AuroraGlo: A universal bowl-shaped glass feature
“The new fixtures are fabulous and what a difference they have made in the look of our room. These are such nice quality and really add to our décor,” said Christine and Jim Simon, customers at Brighter Concepts, the Solatube International dealer in San Diego. “They make us want to add more, which we’ll definitely think about doing.”
Glass Distractions decorative fixtures are made from only high-quality materials, such as glass and metal, and are available for the 160DS and 290DS Solatube products (10-inch and 14-inch diameter TDDs).
Retail price quotes are available through Solatube dealers. For more information, please visit http://www.solatube.com.
Solatube International invented TDDs, which harvest and distribute daylight in homes and commercial buildings, opening up an entirely new category in the lighting industry. Solatube Daylighting Systems are now routinely installed as part of energy-saving and sustainability efforts in residential and commercial spaces around the world.
Using patented technology, Solatube Daylighting Systems harvest daylight at the rooftop and transfer it down through a highly reflective tube (which bends up to 90 degrees and can be up to 70 feet or more long) and distribute it evenly into a room through a diffuser at the ceiling. The products have been installed in everything from homes to warehouses, schools, offices, manufacturing facilities, zoos and government buildings, in every part of the world.
