For the aesthetically inclined, Sigg water bottles are graced with designs from more than 30 different artists. Siggs are made from aluminum and lined with food-safe, non-leaching enamel. 20-ounce bottle: $20.

Durable and lightweight, Klean Kanteen stainless steel bottles are 100 percent recyclable and will outlast their plastic counterparts. 27-ounce bottle: $17.

If you want plastic, the CamelBak Better Bottle is made from Eastman Tritan copolyester, a new non-BPA-leaching plastic. (BPA is a chemical some believe could be harmful to human health.) 25-ounce bottle, $9.

When you buy Guyot Designs’ Backpacker stainless steel, BPA-free bottles, the company purchases more than enough carbon offsets to make up for the bottle’s production. 32-ounce bottle: $25.
