If you’re searching for a fast and easy way to add a little green to your life, look no further than Zebra’s new line of eco-friendly writing utensils.
Zebra has introduced this new line as part of its “Care For Nature” campaign that corresponds with Earth Month and emphasizes the importance of conservation. The collection consists of pens, highlighters and mechanical pencils, all of which are made from at least 70 percent post-consumer waste materials (including the product packaging). Zebra reuses all kinds of resources, ranging from materials from CDs and cassette tape reels to cell phones, LCDs and shopping baskets. By using post-consumer materials, Zebra is pulling double-duty: keeping waste out of landfills and reusing existing materials. The pens still use conventional ink, but using recycled materials is a step in the right direction.
Zebra even features a Clip-On Pink Ribbon pen that corresponds with its “Care For A Cure” campaign. The pen comes with two colors of ink (red and black). From October 2008 through October 2009, Zebra will donate 25 cents from the sale of each of these pens to City of Hope to be put toward breast cancer education, research and treatment up to $25,000.
All Zebra products are available at Staples, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and many other office supply and stationery stores. Visit the website for a complete list of retailers.
