These refreshing tealeaf powders come in four flavors: matcha, sencha, oolong and genmai green tea.

Rishi Tea’s new line of tealeaf powders offer a quick, healthy alternative to energy drinks and soda. Simply pour these tea packets into your cold water bottle for instant tea. The powder is cold-milled from 100 percent pure tea leaves that are rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins.

Believed to lower cholesterol, enhance your immune system, prevent cancer and assist in weight loss, the tea is a natural and healthy alternative to energy drinks and coffee. Specializing in hot teas, Rishi Tea can now add easy, on-the-go, natural tealeaf powders to its Kosher-, fair trade- and USDA-certified organic assortment of teas.

The tealeaf powders come in four flavors: matcha, sencha, oolong and genmai green tea. The matcha has a smooth taste that encourages clarity and focus, and it was originally used by Zen monks.

Genmai is refreshing and has a strong roasted rice smell. Once you move past the smell, the drink tastes delicious. The tea is made from premium, shaded-rown Japanese green tealeaves.

The teas are priced between $8 and $20, depending on which tea you choose. Sencha is $8 for 12 packets; genmai is $8 for 12 packets; oolong is $9 for 12 packets; and matcha is $20 for 10 packets.

Although I prefer hot teas, especially Rishi’s Yerba Mate, the tealeaf powders are great for a quick, quality drink on the go.
