Ginger Tea

For cold and flu symptoms, drink a cup of this warming tea every two hours. For nausea, drink three cups a day. Scientists have found compounds in gingerroot that may fight off rhinoviruses, one type of cold virus.

• 5 to 6 thin slices fresh gingerroot, 2 tablespoons fresh shredded root, or 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
• 1 cup boiling water
• Lemon juice to taste

1. Put the ginger into a mug and pour the boiling water over it.

2. Cover and steep for at least 15 minutes.

3. Squeeze in the lemon juice if desired and drink.
