When bringing showy, vivacious peonies inside, be sure to remove their hitchhiking pals: ants. No need for pesticides–just brush the ants from buds and let them bloom indoors. Or, if you snip flowers already in bloom, dislodge the stowaways with a swish in a bucket or sinkful of water. Place in a vase of tepid water and cheer springtime–sans ants and chemicals.
