Makes 1 mulling spice bag

Items you will need

  • 6 whole cloves
  • 6 whole allspice berries
  • 2 (3- to 3 1/2-inches-each) cinnamon sticks
  • 3 (3-by-1-inch) orange rind strips
  • 5-inch square of cheesecloth
  • Cotton string

Directions

  1. Place spices and orange rind in the center of the cheesecloth.
  2. Gather the edges and tie with cotton string.
  3. When ready to use, add spice bag to wine, cider, etc. and heat until well blended.
  4. Remove bag before serving.

The spice bags are easy to put together and make excellent gifts. Package them with either wine or cider for a seasonal gift that anyone would like to receive.
