Cooking with Saffron: Kashmir Saffron Tea

Saffron tea is said to be good for colds, coughs and low spirits, among other things.

• 3 cups water
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 4 to 5 saffron threads
• 3 bruised cardamom pods
• 2 tablespoons flaked almonds
• Honey, to taste

1. Put water and spices in pan and bring to a boil.

2. Lower the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Pour tea, add some flaked almonds and stir.

4. Add honey to taste.
