Culinary or garden sage is a delicious, aromatic plant that is also a wonderful herb for soothing a sore throat. Use by the teaspoonful as desired.

• Dried sage leaves
• Raw local honey

1. Fill a jar 1/3 full with dried sage leaves. Add some honey and stir well. Add enough honey to fill the jar the rest of the way, and give it a final stir.

2. Cover and label. Keep it on the counter, turning it upside down a couple of times a day.

3. Taste it after 5 days. If it has the desired strength, strain off the herbs through a fine mesh strainer. If the honey is thick, heat it very gently until it becomes thin enough to pour. This mixture will keep indefinitely.
