The Earthkeepers program aims to motivate people from across the globe to consciously consider how they can make the world more sustainable. Timberland is taking responsibility by looking at how their business affects the environment and also encouraging other companies to do the same. Through the Earthkeepers project, Timberland hopes to aims to enliven and engage one million Earthkeepers. Sign up today to become an Earthkeeper.

Wyclef is the Goodwill Ambassador to Haiti and, along with Timberland, is committed to improving communities throughout the world. In 2005, Wyclef founded Yele Haiti, a grassroots movement started with the intent to raise global awareness and revamp the island through music, sports, arts, education and the environment. Likewise, Timberland has made clear its stance on helping the environment by planting more than one million trees and greening 300 communities across the globe.

The collaboration between Wyclef Jean and Timberland will be a first for both the musician and the company. The pair hopes that integrating music, products, digital and social media, concerts and service events will encourage consumers to create environmental change.

Later this month, the duo will launch a 16-boot footwear collection, available in the U.S., under the Timberland Earthkeepers line. The collection is made from organic and recycled materials. It will be made available globally for men, women and children in February 2010. For every pair sold, $2 will be donated to Wyclef’s Yele Haiti foundation to support reforestation in Haiti.
