Chegg.com and EcoLibris.net are working to combat deforestation and rising textbook prices. Students can log onto www.Chegg.com, rent textbooks for a semester and then return them. Renting a textbook through Chegg is generally much cheaper than buying one. You might also be able to rent through your own campus bookstore.

Looking to grow some trees along with your knowledge? EcoLibris, a company that aims to lower the publishing industry’s environmental impact, plants one tree for each textbook rented on Chegg.
