If you’re looking for a simple plant medicine to make at home, it couldn’t get simpler than an herbal tincture. Tinctures are easy to take and readily absorbed by the body. Plus, all it takes to make a tincture is a mixture of 80 proof alcohol and water, as the alcohol extracts the medicinal properties from the plant. While tinctures are readily available for purchase at health-food stores and some drugstores and some supermarkets, try making a tincture at home. The herbal tincture from this video is made from peppermint leaf. Peppermint tincture is great for stomach aches, motion sickness and morning sickness. Tinctures may be taken straight or added to a cup of hot water with a little honey or fruit juice, if desired.
