Herbs for Health: Herbal Salve for Gardeners

<p>
<em>Makes about 8 ounces (Two 4-ounce tins)<br />
</em>Use this healing salve even if you’re not a gardener. It’s great for chapped or dry hands or knuckles. Massage it into fingernails to help prevent splitting. Works great on dry winter elbows and knees. Choose any healing essential oil and you’ll have a wonderful pot of healing.</p>
<ul>
<li>1½ ounces cocoa butter</li>
<li>1½ ounces beeswax pearls</li>
<li>4 ounces light or virgin olive oil</li>
<li>½ ounce lavender essential oil (or other essential oil)</li>
</ul>
<ol>
<li>In a small pan, melt cocoa butter over low heat, then add the beeswax until melted. Add the olive oil and remove from heat, transfering into a glass measuring cup.</li>
<li>Add essential oil, stir and pour into metal tins. If the mixture starts to harden in the measuring cup, re-melt over very low heat and pour quickly.</li>
