After-Sun Summer Skin Care: Badger Bali Balm

In March I traveled to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic for my brother’s wedding. As a naturally cold person, I couldn’t wait to get to the beach and soak up some rays, but after months of virtually no sun exposure, I was also a little apprehensive as to how the Caribbean sun would affect my skin.

The natural sunscreens I brought prevented me from burning, but after being assaulted by wind, sun and saltwater, my skin desperately needed some moisture. Luckily, I brought Badger’s Bali Balm on my trip.

Our skin is the largest organ on our body and the first defense between our body and outside pathogens, making it extra important to take care of. Time spent in the sun can dry out and burn our skin, so it’s essential to restore moisture and soothe any sun damage. Badger’s Bali Balm can do both. It has lots of moisturizing ingredients: cocoa butter, shea butter, extra virgin olive oil and jojoba oil. Badger’s Bali Balm also contains lavender and Moroccan blue tansy (an herb sometimes called Moroccan chamomile). Both of these ingredients are anti-inflammatory, meaning they can help soothe mild cases of sunburn.

My favorite part about the Bali Balm? It provides light-weight moisture. My skin feels smothered by thick, goopy lotions and creams, but I felt comfortable wearing the Bali Balm. In fact, I hardly noticed I was wearing it at all–except for its pleasant lime scent!

The balm is USDA certified organic, petrolatum-free and safe for total body use all year. Use it in July to soothe sun-parched skin, or pop it open in December to moisturize dry winter skin–and let the fresh tropical scent take you to away to warmer days!
