Researchers in Thailand have found that Aloe vera juice may help some diabetics control blood-sugar levels. Their single-blind, controlled study involved seventy-two people with diabetes mellitus aged thirty-five to sixty. After one week, the blood-sugar levels of those receiving aloe juice were lower and continued to fall for thirty-five days.

Researchers concluded that aloe can lower both sugar and triglyceride levels, which are often too high in diabetics, but further trials are needed before aloe can be used as an antidiabetic drug.
