Get your reading glasses and tool belt out: The U.S. Green Building Council and Island Press has created a book club that features industry books and offers them at  discounted prices of up to 40 percent off.

The first GreenWorks reading list features four books: Emerald Architecture, by GreenSource Magazine (U.S. Green Building Council, 2008); The Green Building Revolution, by Jerry Yudelson (Island Press, 2007); Sustainable Construction, 2nd edition, by Charles J. Kinert (U.S. Green Building Council, 2007); and The Necessary Revolution: How Individuals and Organizations are Working Together to Create a Sustainable World, by Peter M. Senge with Bryan Smith, Nina Kruschwitz, Joe Laur and Sara Schley. (U.S. Green Building Council, 2008)

With this initiative, the USGBC encourages dialogue for green building and aims to foster better communication among industry professionals.

The books are chosen on a monthly basis by a panel of experts, but members will be able to suggest books and authors to feature. All books will be available for purchase through Island Press.
