I always serve a “mocktail” when I entertain—a special booze-free beverage. It gives kids a chance to enjoy a libation that’s a treat and gives the grown-ups an alternative to the bar if they would like one. This lemonade, refreshing to both young and old, is a welcome addition at any gathering.
• 1/2 cup Blueberry Syrup
• Juice of 4 lemons (about 1/2 cup)
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 4 cups water or seltzer
1. Combine the syrup, lemon juice, and sugar in a large pitcher and stir until the sugar dissolves.
2. Add the water or seltzer and stir to combine. Serve over ice. Makes 5 cups.
