Facebook Group For Tornado Victims Video: “These Are Pieces of People’s Lives”

Robyn Griggs Lawrence thumbnailEarlier this week I wrote about a Facebook group that’s connecting tornado victims in the Southeast with photos, papers and documents that the storm flung far and wide. Patty Bouillon started the group after she found an ultrasound photo in the debris that the terrifying tornadoes rained on her neighborhood and thought, “This mother doesn’t have this.”

“These are pieces of people’s lives I’m picking up,” Bouillon says in a new video about the group. “Pictures are memories that you can’t get back.”

This video reminds me how lucky I am to have an intact home and healthy children this Mother’s Day. To all mothers, Happy Mother’s Day. Have a picture taken with your kids and tuck it somewhere very safe.
