The Dushanbe Teahouse is a gift from the people of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to Boulder, Colorado, its sister city. The museum-quality building was handbuilt in Tajikistan, disassembled, crated and sent to be rebuilt in Boulder as a symbol of friendship and cultural exploration—and it serves its purpose. A wonderful gathering spot for tea or tequila, the Teahouse offers more than 100 premium teas, traditional afternoon tea service and food made with fresh, natural ingredients from the owners’ farm.
During a grown-up tea party the other night, Teahouse owners Sara and Lenny Martinelli served delicious, different Orange Blossom Mojitos—made with a touch of tea and not too sweet. They were good enough to share the recipe with me, so I can share it with you. It’s the perfect light, refreshing cocktail for a warm summer evening—like this one.
