This mask’s tingly effect is due to the salicylic acid in parsley, the citric acid in lemon juice, and the malic acid in apple. If it starts to feel too tingly, rinse it off immediately. Use it no more than twice a week, and don’t use it at all on sensitive skin or skin with broken capillaries.

  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce or cooked, mashed apple
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a glass bowl and stir. Allow to stand 10 minutes and stir again.
  2. Apply the mask to a clean face and leave it on 1 to 5 minutes. Don’t worry if the solids fall off.
  3. Remove with tepid water and a washcloth. Follow with a moisturizer or protective mask. Keep the unused portion refrigerated for as long as a week.
