Many natural ingredients have skin-soothing properties. Fennel is good for sensitive skin, while chervil helps moisturize dry skin.
This cleanser will keep your skin soft and bright. It is a good alternative to soap because it contains two herbs beneficial to sensitive skin: fennel and elderflowers. If neither grows in your garden, you may substitute the dried version. Makes 6 ounces.
• 1/2 cup boiling water
• 1 teaspoon fresh fennel leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried
• 1/2 cup fresh elderflowers or 1/4 cup dried
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1/4 cup buttermilk
1. Combine water, fennel and elderflowers. Steep until cool. Strain mixture and blend liquid with honey and buttermilk.
2. To use, massage a small amount onto face and neck. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry. Store in refrigerator.
