In the News: Olive Leaf Extract Lowers Blood Pressure

K.PriebeOlive (Olea europaea) leaf extract may be as effective in treating high-blood pressure as common medication.

According to a study published in Phytomedicine, an international journal of phytotherapy and phytopharmacology, olive leaf extract was proven effective in lowering systolic and diastolic blood pressures in people with stage-1 hypertension. A dosage of 500 mg, taken twice daily, showed to be effective. Participants who were taking the olive leaf extract had a reduction of triglyceride levels.
