Removing cosmetics without scrubbing is important to avoid damaging your skin. Castor oil is excellent for removing eye makeup. In this recipe, it is combined with two other natural oils that help remove makeup while conditioning your skin and eyelashes. Even the most stubborn mascara glides off effortlessly with this light oil mixture.

• 1 tablespoon canola oil
• 1 tablespoon castor oil
• 1 tablespoon light olive oil

1. Mix oils together and pour into a clean container.

2. Pour a small amount of oil onto a clean cotton pad and gently wipe over your upper and lower eyelashes and eyelids

I am surprised to see canola oil on the list of ingredients. As one of the top GMO oils (and not really a natural product), I'm not sure I want to be rubbing it over my eyes or on my skin anywhere since our skin absorbs so much of what we put on it. I use pure coconut oil and love it, but might try mixing it with some olive oil to keep it softer. I always have to melt it in my hand before washing my face or eyes.

I've been using olive oil as a total makeup remover for over 25 years. I first learned about it from an Italian woman many years my senior, who incidentally, had amazing skin. I've given this tip to my daughter and her friends and many of them do it as well. It removes all makeup including eye makeup very well. Follow with a good wash and extra good rinse and then the usual moisturizing routine. I also use olive oil on my hair every few weeks, placing plastic over it and waiting 20-30 min before washing hair. Use a big more shampoo and a bit less water than normal for the first wash, then rinse, and then add just a little bit of shampoo and wash again and rinse again. Follow with a diluted vinegar rinse. No residue remains. I use regular store brand olive oil, usually extra virgin so I dont have to buy two grades, one for cooking and one for grooming.

Yes! Ditto! It is basically mineral oil with a nice scent.

Baby oil is lighter and less labor-intensive!
