How to Donate Money or Volunteer Time This Holiday Season

1. Heifers for the holidays.

Heifer International provides farm animals and training in sustainable agriculture to poor families. A gift of a cow, goat, rabbit, llama, chicken, cow, or a water buffalo is a vital source of milk, eggs, and income for individuals and their communities.

2. Homes from the heart.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit housing organization whose volunteers have built more than 150,000 no-interest houses worldwide for low-income people who otherwise couldn’t afford to own one.

3. Compassion for communities.

The Seva Foundation’s Community Self-Development Program works alongside local leaders and community members to achieve self-sufficiency. Projects include training midwives and integrating modern farming methods with traditional herbs and plants.
