The siding is fiber cement, mounted on strapping to create a rain screen to ensure a long life. Permeable asphalt paving was used to allow storm water to infiltrate into the ground. A small portion of the grounds close to the house is for the exclusive use of the homeowners so they can personalize their outdoor living area.

The flooring is solid white oak that is prefinished with a water-based stain. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are arranged in an open plan and oriented toward the shared common exterior area. The large triple-glazed windows and high ceilings give the house a spacious feel.

In the kitchen, the countertops are quartz and the appliances are all ENERGY STAR–rated and WaterSense efficient.
