This petroleum jelly salve is a very simple preparation; just mix the active ingredient into petroleum jelly.

  • 2 tablespoons chopped, dried herb
  • 7 ounces petroleum jelly
  1. Simmer herb in petroleum jelly in a pan on the stove for 10 minutes, stirring well. Strain through fine gauze.
  2. Pour hot liquid into container. Seal after it cools and hardens. Store and use for up to 6 months (checking for mold or bacteria growth if exposed to heat and moisture).
