Over the years, I’ve found that most patients prefer capsules or tablets to teas because of the convenience and because of taste. The digestive teas listed here are a big exception. Popular because they taste good and work more quickly than capsules, they are rapidly absorbed and affect the entire digestive tract. These teas are made by steeping 1 teaspoon of the coarsely ground herbs per cup of water for 20 minutes. For heavier barks and roots, simmer for 10 minutes, then steep for 20.
