Motorola
debuted its Renew phone at the
2009 International Consumer Electronics Show
this week. The company teamed up with
Carbonfund.org
to make the world’s first CarbonFree Certified phone. Motorola offsets the carbon dioxide required to manufacture and distribute the phone with investments through Carbonfund.org.
The packaging of the phone is also 22 percent smaller, and all paper in the box is printed on 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper. Inside the box, a postage-paid envelope is provided to return the old phone for recycling.
The phone will be available in the first quarter of 2009 through T-Mobile.
