The economy may be sloping, but green building is on the rise, says a new
report
by
McGraw Hill Construction
and the
National Association of Home Builders
National Green Building Program
According to the report, The Green Home Builder: Navigating for Success in a Down Economy, almost half of the builders find that building green makes marketing for their businesses easier, and 21 percent of the builders expect 90 percent of their projects to be green in 2009.
The region with most green building growth is the Pacific, while the East South Central area of the country is experiencing the lowest growth in this sector.
The 50-page report, available for purchase, contains basic information on green building, such as profitability and current certifiable standards, to examples of green buildings.
