Afloat in the tub

Set your soap adrift with you in the tub. Twigs cut to length and lashed together with twine or copper wire make the perfect flotation device for soap, loofah, or even a candle. With your supplies in tow, who knows where your imagination may take you?

1. Use willow twigs or any hardwood with a smooth bark. A quick scrub with a wire brush and water makes them suitable company in the tub. Cut to desired length—here about 6 inches.

2. Loop 2 lengths of wire or twine around each end of the first twig. Twist once (like you would a twist tie) then put the next twig in place and twist again. Repeat until the raft is big enough. Double twist ends and flatten any sharp wire into the wood with a hammer.
