Great Winter Recipes: Preserve Herbs with Wreaths and Soups

Sized right for a single pot of stew, these easy-to-make soup wreaths are just the thing for holiday giving.



1. Choose about six sprigs of herbs of varying lengths from the list at left.

4. Tuck in or prune your loose ends and embellish with decorative, flavorful herbs, such as a small red pepper or garlic chive blossoms.

3. Continue with additional sprigs and finish by wrapping a long leaf around like a ribbon to secure all of the herbs.

2. Bend a 12- to 14-inch sprig of a woody herb into a 4-inch loop, wrapping ends around each other.
