Christmas is just around the corner. It is now crunch time. This means lots of last-minute party planning, Christmas card sending and, lastly, gift buying. For me, gift buying is so stressful. Who do I buy gifts for? What will they all like? And, of course, there’s the issue of money. I’ve already spent too much money this year, so for the rest of the people on my list, I’m planning to make my own gifts! I enjoy making things, and a homemade Christmas gift provides a personalized touch.

Here are some great DIY gift ideas that I’m considering.

Duct Tape Wallet

A duct tape wallet is a great idea for both guys and girls. You can use any color you want to make it either bright and flashy or more tame, depending on who you are making it for. It is a present that will last a long time, and I’m sure the recipient of this gift will be very happy to receive this useful and gorgeous gift.

T-Shirt Bag

It’s always nice to have a big bag to put all of your necessities in, whether it’s for day-to-day use or as an overnight bag. I know many people that would love this useful accessory. To make this, simply get whatever t-shirt you want, turn it inside out and sew the bottom of the shirt closed. Cut off the sleeves, then cut out the neck so it is aligned with the bottom of the sleeves. Lastly, turn it right side out and voila! You are finished.

DIY Calendar

Help your friends stay more organized with a DIY calendar. Check out one of the many websites, including MyPhotoCreations, where you can create your own calendar. All you have to do is pick the photos you want to feature each month. This is a great gift that you can personalize for each person you give one to. You could even add special events such as birthdays and holidays to the calendar.

Homemade Playdough

For the younger crowd, you can easily make some playdough. Homemade playdough is nontoxic, so you could even give it to toddlers without worrying the parents. Simply combine common kitchen ingredients.
