I’m putting the final touches on my annual Mom’s-coming-to-visit cleaning spree this week. I rarely polish my wood tables, but I want them to gleam for my mom. So I’m whipping up a batch of homemade furniture polish following a recipe I found on Momadvice.com, a great site for articles on frugal living and tips for organizing your life. My mom’s going to be so proud.

Furniture Polish

¼ cup olive oil

4 tablespoons vinegar

2 teaspoons lemon juice

Mix ingredients together and pour into a spray bottle. Shake well before using. If you do not use all of the polish, store the remainder in the fridge so the lemon juice doesn’t go sour.

I'm polishing my furniture like this happy homemaker--but without the Lemon Pledge.
