Are you
the one that can help save the world from factory farms? Find out by watching The Meatrix II: Revolting, a three-minute animated video released by Sustainable Table and Freerangegraphics.com. This edgy, information-packed film aims to spread the word about the dangers of industrial dairy farms.

The Meatrix II: Revolting and its predecessor play off the Hollywood blockbuster film, The Matrix. In 2003, The Meatrix won critical acclaim and educated 10 million viewers about corporate farming practices. In the original film, a pig named Leo is approached by a mysterious, trench-coat clad cow named Moopheus, who introduces him to the stark reality of modern hog factories. (In The Matrix, Morpheus teaches Neo that the world humanity knows is an illusion, but that it can be saved if they work together to shatter the Matrix, a reality created by machines.)

In the Meatrix II, Leo and Moopheus, together with Chickity, their partner in the resistance, visit a commercial dairy farm and learn the ugly truth about how dairy cows are raised ? including an unnatural diet that feeds the dead back to the living; their overcrowded, unsanitary living conditions; injections of synthetic hormones that increase milk production; and the antibiotics cows are fed to merely survive in these conditions.

The trio also learn about the pollution generated by industrial dairy farms, which creates massive quantities of toxic waste that contaminate our air and water, and finally face the truth about corporate farming, rather than subscribe to 'the lie we tell ourselves about where our food comes from.'

In addition to educating consumers about factory farming, the Meatrix Web site includes an Eat Well Guide with listings of local family farms, as well as a virtual tour of an industrial farm.

This is where the USDA is headed with NAIS. The National Animal
Identification System (NAIS) heavily favors big factory farm and
feedlot producers. They get to do minimal paperwork and use one
Group ID for tens of thousands of animals. By using the Group ID
they are not required to tag, track or report on each individual
animal.Small producers and homesteaders are faced with a huge
burden. They can not use the Group ID because they have mixed aged
flocks and herds. This means that every single animal must be
tagged, tracked and events reported. It will cost small producers
thousands of dollars per year and drive them right out of
business.Remember, the USDA is here to help you(r competitor - Big
