Tips and tricks for natural body care

Though I’m a loyal fan of my trusted drugstore apricot scrub, new refining treatments that are even more sleek and developed—with organic ingredients—hit the market every day. The newest? Jurlique Biodynamic Beauty Refining Treatment.
It sounds fancy, but it’s basically a face scrub with fine micro-crystals (made of apricot seed powder) that smooth and polish the skin. But, the fancy biodynamic blend of rose gallica, licorice root, black elder, chamomile, pansy and violet sets this face scrub apart from conventional apricot scrubs. Its grown on certified biodynamic and organic farms in South Australia—something to consider if you’re into local products and embodied energy.
It’s $35 for 1.4 ounces, so this is definitely a face scrub to use sparingly; I like to exfoliate twice a week, with just a dime-sized dollop. With careful consideration of face scrub, this tube can last you a while, which is something I don’t usually think of when I squirt out a half-dollar size of my drugstore-brand face scrub.
As with the rest of Jurlique’s Biodynamic Beauty collection, the beauty refining treatment doesn’t contain parabens, mineral oil, SLS or artificial colors. And that’s something that not all drugstore brands can confidently state.
