Better Skin Naturally: Rose Hip Mask

Makes 1 mask
Rose hips are rich in vitamin C, and rose hip seed oil has been found especially effective for skin treatment. It promotes tissue regeneration and is good for scars, burns and wrinkles. There are no known toxicities of rose hips, and it shouldn’t irritate the skin.

  • 2 tablespoons rose hips
  • 1 cup spring water
  • 4 tablespoons pure aloe vera gel
  • 2 drops rosemary essential oil
  1. To make the rose hip infusion, break open enough rose hips and place in a heatproof bowl. Bring water to a boil. Pour water over rose hips and allow to steep for 15 minutes. Strain and discard the hips.
  2. Gradually stir about 1 tablespoon of the infusion into the aloe vera gel. You are looking for the consistency of loose gel. You likely will not need all the rose hip infusion. Then add the rosemary essential oil. Mix again thoroughly. Cover and put in refrigerator until cold.
  3. To use the mask, apply cold directly from the refrigerator with clean fingers. When it has warmed to body temperature, remove the mask with tepid water. This mask will remain moist while on your face.
